Businesses worldwide are shifting from a predominantly office-based working environment to hybrid working, where employees have the flexibility to choose their work location depending on when and where they are most productive. Over the next five years, collaborative meeting services will play a pivotal role in defining and enabling hybrid work. The last 12 months have seen collaborative meeting services vendors consolidating messaging, meeting, calling, webinars, and events into one platform and providing flexibility to customers to integrate all or a part of that platform into their workflows via APIs/SDKs. Vendors also continue to invest in building off-the-shelf integrations with popular third-party business productivity applications, enhancing their platforms’ capabilities using artificial intelligence (AI), and automating pre- and post-meeting workflows. Many vendors now sell collaborative meetings only as part of an overall unified communications as a service (UCaaS) offering or office productivity suite, while others continue to sell meetings as a standalone offering.
